The Mosaic Film Experience is an organization we care deeply about and in addition to the photos and videos we make with them, we also volunteer on their education committee and help teach filmmaking workshops in Grand Rapids High Schools. We think that this is a critical organization in the community because on a national level, Hollywood is often too narrow in the stories they tell and we see the best way to fix that is through inspiring diverse youth today to become the next generation of media makers. We want them to feel empowered and have agency enough to pursue goals and be in positions to expand the narratives told in movie theaters and on television. Mosaic opens doors for students to experience new media, engage with professionals, expand their horizons, and be exposed to extended learning opportunities.
The keynote speakers in 2015 were Carla Moore and Zenitra Barrett from HBO. We loved hearing their journeys to success and record them inspiring local youth on the various paths you can take through life to be impactful and follow a dream.

Ranir, LLC Family and Friends Picnic
Ranir, LLC is a leading global of manufacturer of oral and healthcare products. This event was for their employees and families to tour their facilities and enjoy each other's company and have fun!

It was really refreshing to see firsthand the value they place on employees and to watch them come together in such a meaningful way. We had no trouble at all capturing smiles at this event as it was full of fun! We had never toured a factory like this before, and the excited looks on the kids' faces reflected our own. |
Get Your Dream Event
The Get Your Dream Event was an event at Harrison Park Schools in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day in which organizations partnered to discuss education.
This event was very special for us because we had known these students so closely through a WGVU initiative called Get Your Diploma. Get your Dream. The Students who spoke were featured in a WGVU documentary of the same name that Randy and Mallory made in 2013. We were so excited to film this event because we were able to catch up with them and watch as both of them engaged other students with their stories and become champions of education.

Festival of the Arts Grand Rapids 2015
Festival of the Arts is an all volunteer event in Grand Rapids that takes place every year in June.
This is an event we really love in Grand Rapids. The food, the art, the community are all so important. It's a great way to kick off the summer every year, and we are always so impressed with all of the creativity on display! What makes the food taste even sweeter is that the food booths all benefit local charities, churches, and more! We just had to share all this in our Festival event video. |
